Mohammadreza Ghodsi, Advisor to the Minister and Director General of the Inspection Office of the Ministry of Agriculture, visited Pishgaman Dry Port, touring various sections of this logistics complex.
During the visit, which was accompanied by Naser Zohouri, CEO of Pishgaman Dry Port, the capacities and infrastructures of the complex, including 50,000-ton mechanized silos, cold storage facilities, warehouses, cargo yards, and processes related to the entry, storage, and clearance of goods, were reviewed, and detailed explanations were provided regarding the operation of different sections.
Referring to the location of Pishgaman Dry Port in central Iran and Yazd Province, the Director General of the Inspection Office stated that the province’s geographical position, in terms of access to the country’s main transport corridors as well as security considerations, provides favorable conditions for logistics activities and the storage of essential goods.
He added that the establishment of facilities enabling the direct transfer of goods from national seaports to Pishgaman Dry Port via rail transport, along with the completion of customs procedures at this site, has significantly facilitated import-related processes.
Ghodsi further emphasized that, considering the infrastructure developed at Pishgaman Dry Port, the complex has the potential to handle substantial volumes of goods in the future, not only to meet domestic demand but also at the regional level.
He also noted that the design and implementation of this complex have been carried out with due consideration of the needs of the logistics and agricultural sectors, and that the Ministry of Agriculture Jihad, within its legal framework and capacities, is prepared to follow up on matters related to the activities of Pishgaman Dry Port in the field of agricultural products.
During the visit, particular attention was paid to the processes of storage, warehousing, and management of agricultural and food commodities, especially within the silos, warehouses, and cold storage facilities, and the importance of developing standardized infrastructure within the agricultural supply chain was emphasized.
